KFUPM Mechanical Engineering Department Marks 95th Saudi National Day with a Spirit of Unity
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia — Under the patronage of Prof. Mohammed Antar, Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department at KFUPM, faculty and staff gathered on Thursday, September 25, to commemorate Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day. The event was conceived as more than a celebration — it was an opportunity to foster cohesion, strengthen interpersonal bonds, and enhance the departmental culture.
Across campus, KFUPM marked the 95th National Day with large-scale celebrations on September 23 and 24, where nearly 1,000 faculty, staff, and their families enjoyed traditional performances, interactive booths, and a horse parade. Complementing these festivities, the Mechanical Engineering Department hosted a more intimate gathering in a festive yet symbolic setting. Faculty members mingled over refreshments, shared stories, and took part in cultural displays. While smaller in scale, the event carried the same spirit of pride and unity, echoing this year’s national theme “Our Pride Lies in Our Nature.” For many, the highlight was the chance to step away from routine, reaffirm their shared identity, and strengthen the sense of community that defines the department.
As Saudi Arabia continues to evolve, academic hubs like KFUPM play a critical role in shaping the nation’s future. Through small but significant gestures of unity—such as this departmental celebration—those within the university ecosystem renew their connections to each other and to the broader national mission.
