Dr. Ammar Alsheghri joined the mechanical engineering department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Sep 2023. He was a visiting professor in the department of computer and software engineering at Polytechnique Montreal during summer 2024 and summer 2025. Before joining KFUPM, Dr. Alsheghri worked as a technology developer at Comet Technologies Canada Inc. He earned his PhD from McGill university in 2020 in the field of Materials Engineering in collaboration with the faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Alsheghri research interests include Intelligent Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence Applications, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Biomaterials, and Polymer Composites. Dr. Alsheghri authored more than 20 peer-reviewed research articles and 2 U.S. patents.
