The ME Department has 10 computer laboratories. They are established for the purpose of introducing mechanical engineering students to computers and using computer applications in ME courses. They include several personal computers with peripherals. They are utilized in several courses and are used by students for their course assignments and senior projects. They are also used by the faculty and graduate students for their research. The computer labs are equipped with the state-of-the-art personal computers, laser printers and plotters and a scanner. The total numbers are: over 140 Windows machines running Windows 7, as well as a variety of the latest engineering software, 3 heavy duty HP laser printers, 1 HP design jet plotter and 1 heavy-duty HP 9800 printer. They are periodically updated to maintain the level of the state-of-the-art status. They are all networked through a university networking system.

Printers and Plotters.

The Labs are equipped with the following printers and plotter

  • ​1heavy-duty HP Laserjet M80 Printer for undergraduate students.
  • 2 HP LaserJet 4100 Series Laser Printer for faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students.
  • 1 HP Design jet Plotter.

NEW: Laser printing facility is made available for undergraduate students now.

Each Lab is Equipped with PC-Projector for the Classes. 

Backup Services 

An external, USB connected, 80 GB hard disk in addition to two-512MB flash memory pens are available for data backup for faculty members. Moreover, an external CD writer is available and many internal CD writers are available too in the faculty lab and in two PC labs (215A and 222A) as well as the graduate lab.
